Week Two: Online Communities 23 Things Kansas: "Week Two: Online Communities"

I belong to Facebook and have for almost a year. I keep in touch with my friends from my teen years. After high school we all went in many different directions and now live miles apart. We grew up in a rural area and attended a small school; therefore, we were very close. We post pictures of our grand-children, our pets and anything else which might interest our friends. I also keep track of family and friends who live nearby.

I plan to keep using Facebook as I am currently using it, but, I will be using it for my library. I hope to become more familiar with other libraries in Kansas. We are in desperate need of a new library building and this may be helpful in locating resources.

Week One: Blogging

My name is Barbara and I am a trustee for Moran Public Library. We are small and looking forward to growing and expanding our services to our community.

This is my first blog unless commenting on Facebook is considered blogging. I am from the IBM Selectric era, so I am thrilled with our current technology. 23 Things Kansas is making it possible for me to learn new skills while doing something I enjoy.
